Miscellaneous Steel Detailing, Where the Small Stuff Matters

Secondary steel elements like stairs, platforms, handrails and access steel rarely get the same attention as primary structure, but they still have to be built accurately and safely.

The challenge

  • Secondary steel elements needed the same detailing rigour as primary structural steel.
  • Fabrication and installation documentation had to stay consistent with the broader structural design.
  • Access and safety-critical elements left little room for error.

Our approach

  • Detailed miscellaneous and secondary steel components from structural design documentation.
  • Produced fabrication drawings and connection details for each element.
  • Cross-checked secondary steel against primary structure to maintain continuity.
  • Issued installation documentation aligned with the site's construction sequence.
