Before fabrication or erection could begin, the project team needed one coordinated digital model of the steel structure that everyone, engineering, fabrication and site, could work from and trust.

The challenge

  • Steel elements from multiple sources needed to be brought into a single coordinated model.
  • Coordination issues had to surface during modelling, not after fabrication had already started.
  • The model had to generate accurate, usable drawings, not just serve as a visual reference.

Our approach

  • Modelled the full steel structure in 3D from structural design documentation.
  • Ran structural coordination checks against adjacent disciplines and existing site conditions.
  • Used the coordinated model as the single source for detailing and drawing generation.
  • Flagged and resolved clashes and inconsistencies before drawings were issued for fabrication.
